February 8th, 2015 The RUN is 5 out of 5 Weeks

Waist high or better, at least once a week. There was
chest to head high surf from winter Storm LINUS
February 2nd and 3rd, 2015.

The SUPER BOWL Victory Winter Storm LINUS and
more snow...who cares? We WON the Superbowl!

One of the best things about winning is...you get to boast. And let's face it, after what the Patriots went through the week before the Superbowl this was all the more reason to boast. And by boast I mean stick it in your face kind of boasting. Flipping off the world kind of boasting. The NFL owes the New England Patriots and everyone who is involved with the Patriots a HUGE apology.

The owners. The coaches. The players. The fans. APOLOGIZE.

Talk about overcoming adversity. To have to put up with that absolute bullshit the week before the biggest game of their lives? There is no excuse. Whoever is behind this witch hunt should be prosecuted to the FULLEST extent of the law.

As far as the game itself? That game might go down as the greatest Superbowl game of all time. Are you shitting me?

Thank you Lee, I could not have said it any better.

I'm sure by now most of you have seen or heard about "The Play"...or as some have called it "Non play". In typical Patriots fashion we had just gone up 28-24 after Brady hit Edleman for the go ahead TD. The Seahawks got the ball back and proceeded to march down the field with a little over a minute and a half.

Like the ghost of David Tyree Wilson threw a bomb to Kearse who somehow managed to haul it in after it bounced off of every limb while Kearse and defender Butler hit the ground. Before you knew it it was 1st and goal. The beast (Marshawn Lynch) got the call on the very next play, and damn near scored. He was stopped short at the ONE HALF line. Hightower made a game saving tackle and stopped him just short of the goal line.

Meanwhile, EVERY SINGLE Patriot fan in the world was in a deep depression. We have all been here before. To have come this close only to have it snatched away. It was as if we were cursed. In fact, I texted my brother John after the Kearse catch and wrote "We are cursed!" I could just see the headlines. PATRIOTS KEARSED!

But then something happened. Pete Carroll the head coach of the Seahawks called a pass play. A pass play? When you have the BEST running back in the business ready to run the ball into the end zone? You call a pass play? Yes he did. And the rest as they say is history.

And this was that play. Malcom Butler picked off the pass to Lockette and SAVED the day. The football gods were shining down on the New England Patriots once again. With that INT the New England Patriots won their 4th Superbowl. All was good in the world again.
People were dancing, cheering, kissing, and hugging.

And these two? Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were the BEST QB and head coach duo in the free agent era hands down. That victory sealed that deal. History was made and no amount of BS could change it.
Spygate, deflate gate, bullshitgate, SHUT UP GATE! The Patriots were champs. And what a great feeling that was (is). Because let's face it, it has only been a week. This should last us for some time.

I thought about Rick Savastano after the game. I wondered if he was watching. Then I stopped myself. Of course he was watching. Are you kidding me? All the departed Patriots fans were watching.

Watching the GREATEST QB of all time. MVP Tom Brady.

The thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat (always loved that line)

Be sure and check out the FITZY video clip down in the video section. It is so damn funny. Seriously. Love Fitzy.

There's another winter storm heading this way. Ugh... it's supposed to snow for four days straight. Say what? Yep. Winter is here kids. This one is called MARCUS. Know anyone with that name?

Don't forget. Anyone wanting to make a donation to the Meghan Evans fund can do so at any TD Bank.
Just walk into any TD Bank and ask for the Karen Evans
(Meghan's mom) Fund raiser.

There is another fund raiser in the works for February 22nd, 2015 at WALLYS in Hampton Beach. Stay tuned next week for more details.

"Ed's Corner" pic this week is from the summer of 2013. The surfer is Ryan Reed. I'm sure Ed took hundreds of pics of Ryan in the last 5 or 6 years. Or however long Ryan has been surfing here.
To see more of Ed's pics just hit the archives tab and scroll through the years and see some Ed's work. Be sure to pick up the new SFOD movie The COLD COAST and check out the extra feature of Ed O'Connell's gallery set to music.

Each week I will feature one of Ed's great pics from this blog.
*Click the photo above to see a larger version of Ed's Pic.

The COLD COAST is available at CINNAMON RAINBOWS, PIONEERS BOARD SHOP, ZAPSTIX, and SUMMER SESSIONS. You can also buy one from SURF FREE OR DIE by sending a money order or check for $20. Go to surffreeordie.com for ordering details.

Portions of the eventual DVD proceeds will go to the
WOUNDED WARRIORS PROJECT.

Can't wait to see number 4 up there. Hell yeah!

Now for Some Of My Weekly Global Observances

ISIS has hit a new low. The Jordanian pilot Moath Kassabeh was burned alive while standing in a cell. This is a still moments before he was burned. I made the terrible mistake of watching the full video. I think one of the most disturbing things about the video was the way it was produced and edited. It was done very professionally and creatively. Who would spend that kind of time and talent working on the most horrific video I may have ever seen in my life? My friends, pay attention here. WE MUST STOP ISIS. All of the FREE WORLD must join forces and wipe this evil off the map. These barbarians must be eradicated.

WE CAN'T TURN A BLIND EYE TO THIS EVIL.

This man was burned alive. BURNED ALIVE
.

OK backing off a little here. More fun with KSM and Pete Carroll. I'm sorry if I am pissing off Seahawk fans...I honestly can't help myself when it comes to KSM.
So smile a little. It's only KSM and my make believe post every week.

Please enjoy the weekly humiliation of the mastermind terrorist who killed 3,000 innocent civilians on September 11th, 2001.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM), the mastermind behind 9-11 the captured Al Qeada ICON is getting his weekly slap in the face. You're welcome KSM fans.

* Note to self: Must pick up a case of Seahawk hats at Home Depot this week.

And Happy Birthday to all you February Birthdays!
*Facebook no longer gives me the weekly birthday updates.
They only send me daily ones. Sorry.

Please keep my sister Evamarie in your thoughts and prayers and send positive thoughts to our dear friend Meghan Evans and family. Also say a prayer for my good friend Robert Gerard. And please pray for Rick Fiorentini.

Please add them all to your prayer list. Thank you.

Please Support ALL The photographers who contribute to Ralph's Pic Of The Week every
